Discovery
One of the most visited pages in the Equals Money platform is the Overview page, where customers can view their account balances and recent transactions. To understand the current pain points and gather insights, we used FullStory to look at the heatmap, number of clicks in key elements, user journeys and median scroll depth on the Overview page during the last 3 months.

Design workshop
To generate ideas and solutions collectively, I organised a workshop involving product owners and other designers on the team. I presented the data collected from FullStory to everyone and asked them to write down potential solutions they could see being implemented with only minor changes, and after that, we grouped all ideas in an affinity diagram.

As a second exercise, we divided participants into two groups and asked them to sketch their ideal V2 of the Overview page based on a pre-established persona. This V2 wouldn't make it to production straight away due to a lack of resources on the Engineering team, but it would help us get a clear picture of what we envisioned for the future.

Ideating and prototyping
Using the insights from FullStory and the design workshop, I created several design iterations in Figma, focusing on solving the identified pain points with only minimal changes. The final version was then signed off by the main stakeholder and handed over to the Engineering team for implementation.

Wrap up
Using FullStory to track user behaviour can provide valuable insights into how customers interact with a product and workshops are an excellent way to generate ideas and solutions. In conclusion, the redesign of the Overview page was a collaborative effort that involved using data and insights from FullStory, conducting design workshops, and iterating on prototypes. The project resulted in a more user-friendly Overview page that met the needs of the Equals Money customers.
